Talk: Monira Al Qadiri in conversation with art critic Mathias Kryger
Join artist Monira Al Qadiri – currently presenting the exhibition Chameleon – for the performative lecture “Magic Accomplice,” where she explores the sentience of fossil fuels, their derivatives and their ancient origins. Monira Al Qadiri grew up in Kuwait, where the primary industry shifted in just one generation from pearl diving to oil drilling.
The lecture will be followed by a conversation between Monira Al Qadiri and art critic Mathias Kryger. Together, they will discuss the performance, her artistic practice, oil, and the role of art in addressing the challenges facing society today.
